The Intelligent Car Coalition is opposing a petition by Public Knowledge and the Open Technology Institute to the Federal Communications Commission seeking agency involvement in privacy and cyber security on DSRC for V2V.

“It is neither necessary nor appropriate for the FCC to weigh in on automotive cyber security matters,” said Intelligent Car Coalition Executive Director Catherine McCullough.  “Consumers are already well-represented by the agencies of jurisdiction, and proceedings that slow the introduction of potentially life-saving technologies to the marketplace will, statistically, reduce the number of lives that could be saved on the road every year.”
